Learn More About Me
Hello!
I am Dr. Nirvanni Chatoori, and I am a nurse. Clinically, I have a background in Obstetrics and Neonatal nursing. As a staff nurse, I have had multiple clinical education and preceptor experiences where I enjoyed educating nursing students and new nurses working on my unit. I knew from the beginning that my heart was in education, so I found a way to couple my passion for nursing and education by earning a master’s degree in nursing education and a Ph.D. in nursing. This education fostered my academic educator role through clinical, classroom, and online teaching.
As a nurse of 16 years, I have ten years of experience as a hospital educator working with patients and staff. I enjoy policy development, mentoring, and research-related projects. I teach American Heart Association (AHA) HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) classes for staff and hold certifications as a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). I am also a board-certified maternal-newborn nurse through National Certification Corporation (NCC).
In academia, I have 12 years of experience working with undergraduate and graduate nursing students. I enjoy curriculum development, where I co-chaired a nursing program’s curriculum committee for three years. I developed new nursing courses for graduate and undergraduate nursing programs and also have experience as a subject matter expert in content development. I am a course leader for a nursing research course where I also mentor new faculty. I am a member of a college’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) where I review incoming research protocols for approval. My love for research has helped many struggling students succeed in this challenging course. My current expertise is in online education where I enjoy using innovative technology for distance learning.
On a personal note, I am a wife and mother of two amazing children. We particularly enjoy learning about different cultures through travel and savoring delicious new food. One of the most memorable travel adventures we experienced was on top of Cotopaxi, an active volcano where we ascended to over 15 000 feet above sea level in Ecuador!
Enough about me. I want to get to know you and learn more about how my services can help you. Contact me via the Contact page or send an email to hello@nursementoracademy.com. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Regards,
Dr. Chatoori
